A Handgun Course for Women – Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Cable Rod and Gun Club.

The course is an introduction to handguns for first time owners and/or those considering the purchase of a handgun. This is NOT a concealed carry course. The course will include the following:

* Safe handling and storage of the firearm

* Types of handguns, (revolver vs semi-auto)

* Types of ammunition

* Clearing malfunctions

* Types of shooting (Precision, defensive, etc.)

* Marksmanship

* Choosing a handgun

* Maintenance and cleaning

* Holsters and carry options

* Question and answer period

Following the classroom portion of the class, participants will have the opportunity to handle and fire their handguns under the supervision of the instructors. Participants that already have handguns are encouraged to bring their handguns and ammunition to the class.

There will be some handguns and limited ammunition supplied by the instructors for those who do not have one with or to try various styles.
